Kardinia Availability Reporter produces reports on the availability of network nodes and their interfaces, in a network managed by HP OpenView or IBM Tivoli NetView. It determines and reports percentage availability, total up time, and the frequency of outages.
Kardinia Availability Reporter is a client-server application. Two versions are available, Kardinia Availability Reporter for HP OpenView, and Kardinia Availability Reporter for Tivoli NetView. Furthermore, each version is available in two Editions, Standard Edition and Advanced Edition. As the name suggests, the Advanced Edition provides additional features, such as more detailed reports. Specific information on these additional features can be found in the product documentation (manual, readme, help files).
Kardinia Availability Reporter for HP OpenView is closely integrated with HP OpenView Network Node Manager. The server component is installed as processes that run under the control of the NNM process manager and that make use of the NNM databases and APIs. It reads the list of nodes that NNM has discovered and calculates Availability Statistics from NNM data.
